James Ward in action against Serbia's Dusan Vemic in the 2nd qualies round. Ward had beaten Dan Evans in 3 sets in rd1 and took the 1st set against Vemic before falling in 3.

Alex Slabinsky in action against Brazil's Marcelo Melo in rd1. Slabinsky had chances at the start of the 3rd but couldn't take them, Melo won in 3 sets and went on to make the final qualies round, coming within a point of making the main draw

Josh Goodall serving against France's Jo-Wilfred Tsonga. Tsonga was in a "hot patch" at that time, winning Surbiton and going on to qualify for Queens where he made the 3rd round, beating Lleyton Hewitt !
Goodall did well to push him in 3 sets

Jim May in action against American Alex Kunetsov in the 2nd qualies round. May lost a close encounter. In June he had the best few weeks of his career, beating top seed Sam Querrey (a top 70 player) at Surbiton
